SpaceCom2024 Speakers Announced

Uncategorized Oct 06, 2023

I am thrilled to announce that I was invited, (and I have confirmed) that I am a speaker at SpaceCom 2024 in Florida, USA.  I spoke at this year's conference too and can't wait to attend the Florida conference surrounded by astronauts, scientists, billionaires and awesome space professionals.

SpaceCom has announced me as a speaker https://www.spacecomexpo.com/speakers-2024?azletter=

Last year, I spoke as part of a panel on 'Cutting Edge Research Results' and discussed how space research projects run by universities can provide industry teams with exceptional results at reasonable prices when compared with commercial research opportunities.  It was wonderful to share the panel with Beth Mund, former NASA communications officer/Stories of Space  and Ralph Roettgen CEO of Promethius Life Technologies (Venture Capital firm) moderated by Matt Harbert, VP of Raise. Civil Penalty for Space Debris

Uncategorized Oct 04, 2023

Governments around the world recognize that the sustainability of space operations are at risk, because of the ever increasing volume of space debris on orbit. In a historic first, the FCC (Federal Communication Commission) in the United States of America, issued a space debris enforcement action against a US company on the 2nd of October. The failure to properly deorbit the EchoStar-7 satellite, an admission of liability from the company and an agreement to adhere to a compliance plan has resulted in the requirement to pay a penalty of $150,000.

If you are a company doing business in space in the USA or Australia, compliance with government regulatory requirements outlined in space debris mitigation plans (and other regulatory instruments is critical. Read more about the ruling on the blog inside my  brand new community (The US/Australian Launchpad).

What kind of training is right for your space business?

Uncategorized Oct 04, 2023

What kind of training is right for your #spacebusiness? The Australian government has slashed funding for the commercial space industry recently by billions of dollars. No doubt, most Australian space businesses will feel the effects of this as we move into 2024 and beyond.

Are you are a space business or institution which is conducting research, developing new technology or planning to launch Australian owned technology into space either from Australia or overseas? Training can prevent costly mistakes by providing your team with the knowledge needed to know what is required to comply with Australian regulations. Engaging a lawyer after you fail to meet compliance standards for launching a space object from Australia or overseas, could cost you your company.

Let me know which type of training would be more beneficial to your team from the following two options by either leaving a comment below, or emailing me at [email protected] ;

Global Entrepreneurship Conference 2023 in Melbourne

Uncategorized Oct 04, 2023

For me, attending conferences is all about getting to know my colleagues, partners, clients and industry better and to date, I have been missing out.  I was supported to attend the GEC 2023 in Melbourne, Australia last month to speak as a member of the "Getting to the Launchpad" panel by Rhodium Scientific (who led the panel).  This was an incredible opportunity to attend a non-space conference for maybe the first time in a very long time.  I have to say that, so far I have gained more commercially from attending this conference than ever before.

Head on over to LinkedIn for more information about the conference;
